THE
DUCATI XEROX JUNIOR TEAM CONCLUDE
FINAL TESTS AT VALENCIA
Valencia (Spain), 18th-20th March 2009: The Ducati Xerox
Junior Team has spent three days completing final tests
at Valencia before the 2009 racing season gets underway.
The current World Champions carried out a great deal
of work, checking that the various developments made
throughout the winter have proved successful. Both Xavier
Simeon and Daniele Beretta achieved great results and
were able to clock up many fast laps. The perfect weather
conditions, a sunny 25°C with a track temperature
of 30°C, allowed each of the Ducati Xerox Junior
riders to complete more than 220 laps, the best possible
preparation for the opening race of the Superstock 1000
category that will take place on this very same track
on the 5th April.
XAVIER
SIMEON
– “With these tests we complete the
preparatory phase of the 2009 world championship, and
the team has made a great start. This time we were fortunate
to have great weather and the perfect conditions were
probably very similar to those that we will face for
the race here on 5th April. We came across some of the
competition the track but the stopwatch tells us that
we were lapping really very fast. I am very happy that
the break is coming to an end, I can’t wait to
get back to the racing in a season that is fundamental
to my future.”
DANIELE
BERETTA
– “Valencia is a circuit that I know
so I was happy to be able to conclude our preparation
here, and on the same track at which we will race in
a couple of weeks. We have had three intense days, and
I made about 220 laps which proved extremely useful
for checking the bike’s setting and the changes
made by the team during the winter. I am not so far
behind Xavier with regard to times but there is still
much improvement to be made, as my reference remains
my experience during the last seasons with the 600.
I am satisfied and so excited, I just hope I can get
off on the right foot, so as to thank all the people
who have faith in me.”
SERAFINO
FOTI
– “After all the team’s hard work
in the workshop this winter, we needed to go to the
track to check the state of play and after these three
days at Valencia we are extremely satisfied with the
feedback of the team and riders. We have clocked up
significant mileage, lapping with consistently fast
times, a result that puts us in the right mental frame
of mind ahead of the start of the season. It will be
a difficult but exciting championship, and we are ready.”
